Abstract

The integration of heterogeneous data sources into software systems is a complex yet vital task for modern organizations. Traditional methods often encounter issues of data inconsistency, latency, and lack of trust among stakeholders. Blockchain technology, characterized by decentralization, immutability, and security, is increasingly recognized as a potential solution. This study investigates blockchain-enhanced data integration through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), Expert Validation, Industrial Survey, and Simulation-based validation. Findings demonstrate that blockchain improves security, transparency, and reliability of data integration. Empirical evidence from industrial surveys and experiments suggests blockchain-based integration yields measurable improvements in efficiency, data quality, and trustworthiness. The study also outlines challenges and proposes directions for future research.
