Although CsPbBr₃ perovskite quantum dots (QDs) have remarkable optoelectronic characteristics, their weak conventional ligand binding causes instability. In order to improve stability and performance, this work presents a binuclear azolium ligand doping technique. The ligand gives undercoordinated Pb2+ surface sites robust bidentate chelation by a modified LARP synthesis. At 525 nm, the functionalized QDs show narrow emission (FWHM ~18 nm) with extended carrier lifetime and near-unity PLQY. Robust surface protection and efficient trap passivation are confirmed by spectroscopic and DFT investigations. Highly stable and effective QDs appropriate for sophisticated optoelectronic applications are made possible by this ligand doping technique.
