Abstract

Dera Ghazi Khan, a haven of civilization and culture, is also of geographical importance and a strong defensive fort. Its Indus River provides a lush green environment and beautiful scenery, and its Mount Sulaiman is a treasure trove of rare minerals. Ghazi Khan is rich in literary heritage and has a reputation for Urdu poetry and literature since before the establishment of Pakistan. Due to economic crisis, backwardness and lack of electronic media and print facilities, many writers of this region have remained in obscurity and most of their creative works have destroyed, However, Aslam Khan Mulghani, Fikr Tounsvi, and Kaifi Jampuri are prominent. In the present era, this region is of great importance in the creation of poetry and literature. Among those who write poetry in both traditional and modern styles, Rashid Qaisrani, Mohsin Naqvi, Shakeel Pitafi, Rashida Qazi, Shireen Leghari, and Najma Shaheen Khosa are prominent.
