Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital classrooms has transformed modern education by increasing access to learning while simultaneously creating new legal and ethical challenges related to communication practices. This study examines the role of communication law in regulating digital educational environments, with particular emphasis on balancing free speech, privacy rights, and academic integrity. The research explores how online learning platforms, social media interactions, and virtual classroom communication have complicated traditional understandings of expression and institutional control. It analyzes the legal frameworks governing students’ and teachers’ rights to freedom of expression while also addressing concerns regarding cyber harassment, data protection, surveillance, and misuse of digital information. Furthermore, the study highlights the growing importance of academic integrity in online assessments, focusing on plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, and the misuse of artificial intelligence technologies. By evaluating contemporary legal principles and institutional policies, the research identifies the need for balanced regulatory mechanisms that protect individual rights without undermining educational discipline and ethical standards. The study concludes that effective communication law is essential for creating secure, inclusive, and academically responsible digital learning environments.
