Abstract

Gender inequality in sport is a major concern across the globe. This study aimed to assess the perception of female athletes about gender discrimination and its influence on their sports participation. The population of the study was comprised of female athletes registered to different universities of Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, and thus six hundred and fifty (650) (aged 18-35 years) female athletes were selected as the sample of the study by using available sampling technique.  Adopted questionnaires were used for the collection of data. The collected data were processed through statistical package for Social Sciences (SPSS, version-26), and thus suitable statistical tools were applied. Based on data analysis, the researcher concluded that gender discrimination is still a major structural and psychosocial problem among female sports participation.
