Abstract
Inflation is one of the common issues debated around the world in the circles of policy makers, economist and the public. This research employs panel data from 2002 to 2020 in order to investigate how the 2008 economic recession caused inflation in BRICS countries. The researcher will use Ordinary Least square methodology by taking inflation rate as a dependent variable while considers GDP growth, supply of money and exchange rate as the main engines of the crisis in order to estimate regressions. The research finds out that this method successfully shows that these factors were responsible for inflation before and after the crisis and covers a period from 2002-2007 and 2009-2020.
