This research Article examines Article 9-A of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which grants every citizen the right to a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment. It critically analyzes the legal, constitutional, and institutional frameworks within which this provision operates, focusing on its potential to advance environmental justice in Pakistan. The aim of this study is to evaluate whether Article 9-A can effectively bridge the gap between environmental harm and judicial redress, ensuring equitable access to environmental rights. The research adopts a doctrinal research methodology through a critical analysis research method, reviewing existing case law, statutes, and literature to assess how this constitutional provision has been interpreted and implemented. The findings suggest that while Article 9-A offers a strong constitutional basis for environmental protection, there are significant gaps in procedural rights, enforcement mechanisms, and institutional capacity. In conclusion, the study recommends judicial expansion of procedural rights, legislative reforms for better enforcement, and the strengthening of institutional frameworks to ensure effective realization of environmental justice in Pakistan.
