Present medicinal plant drug discovery research utilizes a comprehensive approach that combines herbaceous, plant chemical substances, biochemical, and molecular methods. Throughout history, humans have relied on nature to meet their essential requirements, containing medications to treat an extensive range of ailments. Plants also served as the foundation for complex traditional medicine schemes. Many currently recognized lead compounds for therapeutic agents are natural products or their derivatives. Ethnomedicinal research is critical in developing new medicines derived from native therapeutic plants. Green pharmaceuticals are gaining prominence with significance due to the unrivaled accessibility of element variety and ordinary inventions, also as pure composites or as homogeneous plant fractions, offer vast opportunities for new drug discoveries. As a result, the requirement for herbal medications and other ordinary inventions derived from a range of plant varieties has steadily increased in recent years. This article examines some of the natural product approaches past successes as well as the challenges in medicine development from ordinary creations, particularly superior plants. The history, current, and potential importance of using knowledge from plants utilized in conventional medicinal practice for the innovation of novel bioactive composites are discussed in this study.
