Lemae Golo Demonstrates Superior Yield (Up To 7,900 Kg/Acre) And Resilience Under Optimized Agronomic Practices, Making It A Promising Cultivar For Commercial Jujube Production.Abstract
A comparative study was conducted from 2017–18 to 2019–20 to evaluate the performance of the Lemae Golo jujube variety against other commercial varieties (White Golo and Umran Sufi) at different locations, including Dost Mohammad Nizamani Farm (Tando Qaiser), Jujube Research Station (Tandojam Lower), and Mir Khalid Talpur Farm (Jhan Mori). Additionally, fertilizer and irrigation trials were conducted to assess optimal growth conditions for Lemae Golo. Results indicated that Lemae Golo exhibited superior or comparable performance in terms of flowering (last week of August), fruit setting (3rd week of September), and maturity (early December). The average yield of Lemae Golo was 7000–7900 Kg/acre, outperforming White Golo (6320–7900 Kg/acre) and Umran Sufi (5530–6715 Kg/acre). Fertilizer trial T3 (1.0 kg N, 0.6 kg P, 0.7 kg K, 100 kg FYM) and irrigation trial T2 (14-day interval) produced the highest yields (7900 Kg/acre), confirming Lemae Golo as a high-yielding, early-maturing variety suitable for commercial cultivation under optimized nutrient and water management.
