An analysis is made to examine the transient thermal distribution via a moving rod by considering internal heat generation depending on temperature and constant temperature dependent thermal conductivity. By modelling the energy conservation equation with constant boundary conditions and initial conditions, the characteristics of convection, conduction, and radiation through a moving rod are examined. By using all of the non-dimensionalized parameters, the energy equation is reduced to a PDE. The effects of heat generation, temperature ratio, and conductive parameters on thermal profile are discussed in detail. The built-in Matlab function bvp4c is used to compute the numerical results and the resulting values are shown through graphs and tables.
