Abstract

Snow leopard is a crucial indicator species of mountain ecosystems. However, in Pakistan, its survival is beneath increasing danger. These threats get up from each environmental changes and human activities. This review-based technical report gathers and analyzes existing studies to better recognize the conservation popularity and population traits of the species. The study reviews special scientific methods used to estimate population size, which include sign surveys, predator–prey biomass analysis, genetic strategies, digital trapping, seize–recapture techniques, and biotelemetry equipment like GPS monitoring and radio collaring. The report examines the modern-day distribution of the snow leopard. It specializes in spatial evaluation methods and its presence in snow-protected areas. The study also gives a detailed study of the most important threats to the species. These consist of habitat loss, declining prey populations, retaliatory killings, and the outcomes of weather trade. This also evaluates conservation projects from ecological, socio-monetary, and coverage views, with a focus on network-based programs, collaborative procedures, and the position of each governmental and non-governmental group. Although some conservation has been effective, the population of snow leopards in Pakistan is still threatened. Their numbers vary broadly throughout distinct areas. The survival of the species in the long term depends on further research, sound regulations and active encouragement of neighborhood.
