The Green chemistry has emerged as a vital approach for addressing environmental pollution while promoting sustainable development, particularly in developing countries like Pakistan. This study explores the role of green chemistry principles in minimizing hazardous waste, reducing toxic emissions, and encouraging the use of eco-friendly materials and processes. By emphasizing pollution prevention at the source rather than remediation, green chemistry contributes to cleaner industrial production, safer agricultural practices, and improved public health outcomes. In Pakistan, where rapid industrialization, urbanization, and agricultural intensification have led to significant environmental challenges, the adoption of green chemistry can play a transformative role. Techniques such as the use of renewable feedstock’s, energy-efficient reactions, biodegradable materials, and non-toxic solvents can significantly reduce environmental degradation. The green chemistry supports economic sustainability by lowering production costs, improving resource efficiency, and fostering innovation in industries. The study highlights the need for policy support, awareness, and capacity building to integrate green chemistry into academic curricula, industrial practices, and national environmental strategies. Overall, green chemistry offers a practical and sustainable pathway for Pakistan to balance economic growth with environmental protection, ensuring a healthier ecosystem and improved quality of life for future generations.
