Abstract

Strength training intensity plays a crucial role in influencing hormonal responses that affect athletic performance, recovery, and muscle adaptation. This study examines how varying levels of training intensity impact key anabolic and catabolic hormones, including testosterone, growth hormone, and cortisol. Using a qualitative and analytical approach based on existing literature, the study compares low, moderate, and high-intensity training protocols and their physiological effects on athletes. Findings indicate that high-intensity strength training significantly increases anabolic hormone secretion, promoting muscle growth and strength development, while excessive intensity may elevate cortisol levels, leading to fatigue and overtraining. The study concludes that optimizing training intensity is essential for maximizing performance and maintaining hormonal balance.
